More impact of project

Over a three year period, a group of students, teachers, parents and volunteers from Hord Coplan Macht constructed 27 planter boxes from reclaimed wood and tables and chairs to create an outdoor classroom for the high school. The plantings are all native and selected to offer year round interest, natural habitat for pollinators, and eventually shade from large trees. Native plants will be identified for education purposes. Outdoor chalkboards were built, painted in school colors, and hung around the courtyard. The initial concept and master plan for the project was created by students in the environmental club. The goal of the project is to create a safe, comfortable, green space for the entire student body, teachers and staff.
