Scool Garden Clean Up Day

October 03, 2019

We are having a school-wide garden clean up day! We will be working with partners from WSU SNAP-Ed to clear weeds, take up irrigation hoses, pull up compost bags around garden beds, and move perennial plants to prepare for the building of raised beds by our Eagle Scout partner. Everyone will get involved to help prepare our garden for it's new design.

124 first and second grade students and 9 adults work in the school garden. They harvested 5 pounds of potatoes, 6 pounds of cherry tomatoes and 28 pounds of carrots! They created 2 garden beds in the hoop house and moved lettuce and strawberry plants into them. They cleaned out and composted a row of dead tomato plants and picked up and stored the irrigation hoses. The food not eaten by the students was donated to the local food pantry.
