We Cannot Make a Tree, but We Really Need Three

Help me give my students three live trees for our outdoor learning environment which is currently surrounded by concrete and brick walls so they learn about and experience the benefits we all get from trees, while becoming environmentalists.

As a Montessori classroom, we're blessed by having a space outside our classroom to use as an outdoor learning environment. Additionally, our curriculum allows us to integrate environmental studies into all aspects of our learning including science, social studies, reading and language arts, and even math.

Unfortunately, our outdoor space is surrounded by concrete and brick walls, so we need living trees to help us incorporate nature into our environment as we learn about and care for the plants and animals which are also a part of our world.

Trees are so important to our planet and my students will learn to appreciate their benefits and importance as we read and do research into all aspects of arboreal and environmental science.

In our classroom we will have Earth Day and Arbor Day EVERYDAY!

Thank you does not begin to express my feelings and gratitude at what you have done for my students... You are truly changing their lives! Thank you, thank you, thank you for what you have done for my students, our environment, and the future of our world!

The first two photos show how our area looked before you got involved - bleak at best - concrete sidewalk and a brick wall greeted my students as they came and went from our classroom. But now... A true outdoor learning environment! A place to learn and grow and experience and appreciate our natural world.

With gratitude,
Ms. Finn
