VAVPA Recycling Program and Garden Renovation

September 30, 2017

We are excited to announce that we are participating in the Green Apple Day of Service this year! Verdani Partners, a local sustainability firm, is spearheading these projects. We plan to implement a recycling program in the cafeteria to reduce landfill waste and will rejuvenate the raised garden beds. The school currently throws almost 600 paper trays in the trash daily. Our recycling program hopes to divert most of them from the landfill. We will also be donating the artwork from the recycling campaign to any other schools interested in implementing a recycling program. We are asking for volunteers to help fund purchasing recycle bins and the garden supplies, putting up recycling signage, painting the garden beds, putting new soil and planting new seedlings.

The projects will take place on Saturday, September 30th, from 8:30am to 1:00pm.
