María holds an Architecture degree from the University of Virginia, and a Masters Degree in Architecture and Sustainability from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. She has worked in more than 30 LEED certified projects around the world and is now implementing the EDGE certification program in Costa Rica, making it her mission to strengthen sustainable development in Costa Rica and other countries in Latin America. María has joined the Costa Rican Green Building Council team as the incoming Executive Director.
