CARAVAN FOR THE PLANET
CARAVAN FOR THE PLANET
"Caravan for the Planet" is a project on how we can reduce energy and water consumption. It is a project developed and managed by school students to learn about the value of one of the most precious natural resources and at the same time to promote more sustainable strategies on energy and water use.
During the school year the students of the school actively participated in the project "The school I would like", exploring the theme of energy and water in all aspects and developing the most diverse strategies to reduce consumption. In addition, the following projects have also been carried out: the straw house, mimicry in nature, vaccines, the song on sustainability, etc.
Supervisor Carla Antonioli will host "Caravan for the Planet" at the "Science Under 18 Pescara for Abruzzo" event in Sabucchi parkland. During the event, students will talk about the project and show the work done to the many invited students, coming from other schools in the Abruzzo region or participating live from other cities in Italy (Rome).
The staff of the GBC Italia team (Eleonora and Maurizio) played the role of support and sponsor, bringing together supervisors and teachers for training and helping to facilitate the success of the event.

The project developed by the students of the K-12 school has been very successful with a positive impact on the whole school community, because for its development different tools have been used with the aim of involving as many students as possible: singing and dancing "The song on sustanability" with the children of the kindergarten school; posters and experiments with elementary school students; working models on "The school I would like" and "Straw house" with middle school students.
Furthermore, organizing the event in a public place together with the method of letting the students tell the project and the work they carried out to all the other students and teachers of other schools, to the parents and to the whole community that attends the "Sabelli parkland" every day, and who approached the stands with the desire to know, allowed to involve and sensitize all the people who attended the event, and then to extend the project beyond the "walls of the school"
