Students planted a few silver firs (Abies alba), an indigenous species of fir, summer lilac (Buddleia davidii), red emperor maple/Japanese maple (Acer palmatum) and tulip poplar/ yellow poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) in school yard. They have learned the importance of trees in our environment. Each tree got the ID plate with significant features of it. Students prepared for some time and investigate each kind. Students plant a potted plant for each classroom and make ID plate for it as well. Plants will improve the air quality.
