Lorca School Garden Clean Up

October 12, 2017

Students and staff will participate in the winerisation of our massive school garden. This will consist of pulling weeds in 22 garden beds, and preparing the soil for Spring planting, including covering the soil with visqueen. This project continues through the school year and is a school wide initiative that includes planting of seeds in recycled milk cartons and transplanting seedlings into the garden. We want our students to have healthy and self sustainable fruit and vegetable options. Our project is growing in interest and our students get hands on authentic learning in an urban enviroment.
