Presentation of Green Apple Day of Service Initiative by volunteer member of U.S. Green Building Council Florida Gulf Coast Region | Tampa Bay branch, Cristina Shoji Pellizzetti in collaboration with Temple Terrace Farm2School organization. Since 2012, USGBC Florida Gulf Coast Region has inspired acts of service to benefit over 9,341 students during Green Apple Day of Service with 730 volunteers across the region.

"Green Apple Day of Service brings together volunteers from local businesses, universities, and the community to provide K-12 schools with assistance in "greening" their campuses through installing vegetable gardens, rain barrels, outdoor learning spaces, landscaping, and other beautification efforts desired by partner schools. Volunteers graciously donate their time and resources to help provide a means of connecting students to nature on their campuses and more broadly expose the community to the green building industry through community service.”

U.S. Green Building Council Florida presents to Turner-Bartels K-8 School about the "Green Apple Day of Service" initiative in preparation for the garden we are planning to build at the school on Nov. 3, 2018. Temple Terrace Farm2School (TTF2S) partners with the USGBC Florida to broaden the message about the impacts and benefits of the green and healthy schools movement. This partnership between TTF2S and USGBC Florida affords Patel College students @ University of South Florida the opportunity to work alongside USGBC professionals during "Green Apple Day of Service.”
